Northern Kentucky Soccer Academy

Northern Kentucky's fastest growing select soccer academy

Where better training means better soccer!

NKSA - P.O. Box 75189 - Ft. Thomas, Ky. 41075

NKSA was founded in mid 2006 by a group of five people with many years of combined experience.  There soccer related experience includes: club administration, board membership and/or volunteerism.  The combined goal, of this group, was to elevate the level of soccer in Northern Kentucky.

To meet this objective, the group identified, two basic principles which continue to form the cornerstone of NKSA:

  1. Provide Select soccer at a reasonable price point - so that more kids can afford it
  2. Provide kids with better training

While we all love to win, winning every game is not nearly as important as player development and improvement.   Thus, the motto of the club BETTER TRAINING = BETTER SOCCER!

As a new club, one of the very first actions was to hire a Director of Coaching for the club.  Jeff Cummings was elected as the club’s DOC.  Coach Cummings’ credentials include:

  • Youth level coaching experience - National Youth Coaching License
  • Former Director of Coaching at the Newark Area Soccer Association
  • Kentucky’s Olympic Development Program
  • “B” License from the United States Soccer Federation.

Coach Cummings is currently the head coach for Thomas More’s Colleges men’s and women’s soccer programs. GO SAINTS!

To maximize training hours, in the spring of 2010 NKSA began using the newly built athletic facilities at Thomas More College.  This included a turf field as a training surface for many of our teams.

In the fall of 2011, NKSA also began to use the Boone County Peewee Football Complex which had just been newly completed as a training facility.  As with Thomas More, the Boone County field also boasts a turf surface as well as lighting.

Access to two lighted turf fields has been a great asset for the club especially during wet springs and as daylight savings kicks-in during the Fall.  These fields provide NKSA with the ability to consistently manage 1.5 hour trainer led sessions, for our teams, when other clubs would have to stop.

NKSA fielded four teams in the Fall of 2006.  The club continues to grow rapidly and now hosts more than 50 teams!
